A one-year project of the City of Koprivnica “ODJEK – Growing up in equality, Koprivnica” financed by Operational Programme, Effective human resources of the European Social Fund officially started on 1 September 2015.

The aim of introducing assistants in teaching is to facilitate and promote the integration, daily work of teaching and learning of pupils with disabilities. The project promotes the long-term quality of education of students with disabilities and contributes to their integration in an equal educational process while facilitating the work of teachers and other pupils.

The project will finance the 23 assistant for 24 children with disabilities in three elementary schools in Koprivnica and one special educational institution, which enabled the creation of 23 jobs for the unemployed which are in an unfavorable position in the labor market and threatened of social exclusion because of the level of education and skills.

Partners on the project are elementary school “Antun Nemčić Gostovinski”, elementary school “Braća Radić”, elementary school “Đuro Ester” and CESD “Podravsko sunce”.

The project will be beside of trained assistants in the classroom who work with pupils with disabilities, serve as a model of social policy, which will continue in the future.

The total value of the project is 1,237,941.41 HRK; the amount of the grant IS 1,114,147.26 HRK.
